What is Candida?
Candida Albicans is a yeast that exists in all of us. It is normally controlled by our immune system and by other bacterial flora present in our body.
Candida Albicans usually resides in the digestive tract and in women it is also found in the vagina. Candida sufferers may also have the yeast on the skin (athlete's foot or dandruff, for example, are generally signs of fungal or yeast infections).
Candida serves no useful purpose in the body (unlike other bacterial flora such as lactobacillus acidophilus) and can, therefore, be viewed as a parasite. In most people however this yeast causes no harm and lives within them peacefully. The problem starts when Candida gets out of control and makes its presence known.
In the right environment, yeast is capable of explosive reproduction and growth. This can lead to problems such as thrush, chronic tiredness, leaky gut syndrome, cystitis, PMS, joint pains, fungal infections, menstrual problems, weight gain or loss, bloating and flatulence, food sensitivities, diarrhoea or constipation and a whole host of other things

The most common treatment for Candida is over the counter creams and pills or the 'anti-Candida' diet. Unfortunately, conventional medications tend to just supress the symptoms, and the diet is hard to stick to long term, meaning the condition keeps on coming back.
Fortunately however, there are other more natural and effective things you can do. For example we have a very effective flower essence programme for dealing with Candida (using Australian Bush Essences) and homeopathic remedies can work wonders. There are nutritional supplements that can help to address any nutritional deficiencies that are feeding the candida and detoxification programmes that can help you to get rid of any toxins that are stopping you from becoming well.
After your asyra screening you will be given a tailor made treatment programme based on the results and your specific symptoms.
